Saturday Afternoon / March 20thOn this Saturday... a cold front has moved off the Texas coast with much
cooler surface high pressure building southward from the Rockies and the
Plains into Texas.
On the upper air charts... a strong trough of upper level low pressure
extends southward from central U. S. plains into Texas.
In the wake of strong cold front that moved across the area earlier
today, drier and much cooler air has taken over most of Texas.
Temperatures will be below seasonal averages through tomorrow.
Overnight tonight as well as tomorrow night, lows will be near the freezing
mark especially in the outlying and lowlying areas. The National Weather
Service has issued a freeze warning overnight for the Texas hill country
including Blanco.. Burnet... Gillespie and Llano counties. The freeze
warning
does not include the Austin metro or IH 35 corridor area at this time.
A dry and stable weather pattern will prevail tonight into Sunday as well
as into the first part of the new week.
Another low pressure storm system is forecast to increase clouds and
rain chances by the middle part of next week.
