St. Gabriel's Catholic School in West Austin boasted over 5,000 miniature American flags on its front yard in honor of U.S. Military veterans.

Students and faculty helped plant the flags Tuesday for a Veteran's Day ceremony on Wednesday, which included a trumpet player performing 'Taps'. The final flags were planted Wednesday, to represent those who have served in Austin as well as those who died in the Fort Hood massacre.

There were 5,247 flags planted in all.

San Gabriel's Catholic School is located on 2500 Wimberly Lane in West Austin.
