An Austin man dies behind the wheel of a tour bus for Miley Cyrus. 53-year-old Bill Douglas reportedly had a heart attack while driving a production crew to their next concert stop.

"I knew that phone call today was about what happened," says Douglas’s sister Nancy Marshall.

Marshall and her son choked back tears and shared memories of a man they say loved his life as a driver to the rich and famous. Douglas’s bus overturned on a Virginia highway early Friday morning.

"The stories he would tell about being on the road is what I loved,” says Douglas’s nephew Chad Trout. “He would tell me about it every time we talked.”

The family says Douglas drove for Brittney Spears, the Jonas Brothers, the Pussycat Dolls, James Taylor and sports stars like Kurt Busch and Bill Elliott. His sister says Douglas’s bus was as clean as a whistle and fine tuned as a race car.

"He always took care of that,” says Marshall. ”He always knew those wheels weren't rolling if everything wasn't in place."

Nine members of the crew were on the bus but only one was treated for minor injuries. Crew members reportedly tried CPR on Bill after the bus hit an embankment and overturned.

Miley Cyrus was not on the bus when it crashed but she released this statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of "Uncle Bill" Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”
