  • South Austin bank robbed; suspect arrested

    Austin police say the Wells Fargo located at 1901 W. William Cannon was robbed Wednesday morning.

    Police said the robbery occurred at around 11 a.m.  Officers said the suspect entered the bank, demanded cash, and then fled on foot. Two customers inside the Wells Fargo chased the man outside and followed him down Cannonleague Drive. They told police the suspect turned around at shot at them, and they stopped chasing him.

    The suspect was apprehended about an hour later by police.

    This is Austin's 16th bank robbery
